West Indies have announced their 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup starting on October 16. This time the T20 World Cup will be organized in Australia’s hosting. Evin Lewis is back in the team. Lewis played his last match against Australia in the T20 World Cup-2021. Two uncapped players have got a place in the team. Leg spinner Yannick Karia and all-rounder Ramon Refer have got a place in the team for the first time. All-rounders Andre Russell and Sunil Narine have not been given place in the Windies team. Russell, 34, has experience of 67 T20 Internationals. He has scored runs in this format at a strike rate of 156 and has also taken 39 wickets. He also played his last match against Australia in the T20 World Cup last year. His fans found it a surprising decision to oust Russell, who was a member of the team that won the T20 World Cup in the year 2016.
